Are beeswax candles safe to burn around caged loved birds?

I have two lovebirds and my room is clean but is starting to smell a little bit off. I bought some beeswax candles from the Savannah bee company and called the hotline to ask if they were safe for birds, but all they could tell me is that they did no further research on that, and that as far as they had heard it was ok b/c the candle had no non-toxic fumes.
Can anyone tell me???

If they haven’t done alot of research on it, I wouldn’t use them. I have heard so many horror stories about birds and candles and even the little car airfresheners. When our house starts smelling musty, we just open the windows. Sometimes when I vacuum I’ll put a dryer sheet in the bag. This helps make your rooms smell a little fresher after you vacuum. I would say to be very wary of anything that gives off smoke, or any spray mists. They have tiny little lungs!!!

No, you should not use them around birds. Anything that has a fragrance or odor you can smell should not be used in the same room as your birds. That includes perfumes, hair spray, paint, glue, incense, candles, etc. Birds have super sensitive respiratory sysmtens and these scents are very irritating and in some cases can be fatal. In addition, an open flame is dangerous in and of itself if the birds get out of their cage.
