Using floating candles without water?

Posted on March 7th, 2010 by admin in floating candles | 2 Comments »

I was just wondering if it would be safe to use floating candles without water? I don’t have any candle holders so I’d just put it on top of a ceramic bowl or plate but then would the wax just pool everywhere?

But would it be safe to use the candles without water?

Just put the candles inside the bowl instead of on top of it

WEDDING CENTERPIECES: Instead of floating candles, what can I use to put in a glass vase with water?

Posted on March 5th, 2010 by admin in floating candles | 5 Comments »

My wedding center pieces are going to be something with a clear glass vase with water in it and a mirror for those vases to sit on. My only problem is– is that the venue of my reception doesn’t allow candles. What can I put in those vases with water instead of floating candles? Any ideas? I thought of fake flowers but will fake flowers float or sink? HELP!

Fake flowers will float, however, how about real flowers. You would only have to put one head in each bowl and therefore would not cost that much although the fake flowers would be cheaper.

Where can I find colored floating candles?

I’m looking for floating candles that are at least 3" in diameter. The colors I am looking for are bright yellow, bright orange, and bright pink. I have been looking everywhere online and I can’t seem to find these bright colors. Any suggestions?

$2 stores are fantastic. they always always have candles =]

Are fake flower petals safe with floating candles?

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by admin in floating candles | 2 Comments »

I’m planning on making a centerpiece involving flower petals and floating candles in glass bowls. I was wondering if fake flower petals would be ok, or would real petals be better. I’m looking for information on both safety (since there will be fire) and appearance. Thank you.

Of course real flowers would be better but If you need to use the others they ll be fine… GL
