Yes, go to the craft store and get a gel candel making kit. Has gel wax, wicks and instructions for use. Have fun. they are a little pricey, but not bad at all. definatly cheeper then buying one at some shops.

Can you take a cup and put some jello mix in it and put and little candle in it thus making a cheap gel candle?

negative. jello mix would only add color. not to meantion, you’d have to put it in the fridge to ‘set’ and when set out it would only melt….bad idea. it won’t work.

you can make your own candles by using bees wax or parafin wax.

im trying to put a fake rose in some gel candles that im making but the rose keeps messing up and falling apart how do i keep it from not falling apart?

im guessing you have a mold to make this candle. what i would do is pour in half of the gel and stick the flower on top. After it cools down and its solid then i would pour in the other half of the mix very gently so that it doesnt break it….

There’s one on Lyndhurst Terrace (close to Melanie)called "Candles" I think, and another one on Staunton Street close to Elgin, but I don’t recall its name. If you’ve got money to splash, Lane Crawford and Joyce Beauty have some nice soy candles with a variety of fragrances.

Candles are as good of a product as any. I do stongly suggest you look into online stores and the like. I’ve known many people, both friends and acquaintances, who have tried to do the same thing you’re doing. Most of which were quite smart and worked hard at it. What they ended up with was a site that didn’t get much attention except from people with stolen credit cards trying to pull one over on you. Fortunately they all did their business through someone else so the credit card fraud situations were caught before anyone lost anything other than time and energy. Good luck to you though.

The best that I could find about what makes up the gel is that it is made up of polymer resin and mineral oil. Even the "Michael’s Book of Arts & Crafts" just says to buy a tub of candle gel without telling you the recipe for it at all. Here’s the link where I found what candle gel is made from.
