Scented candles that are calming or relieve stress?

Posted on March 11th, 2010 by admin in scented candles | 3 Comments »

I’ve been having trouble trying to relax lately, its started to effect my sleeping patterns.. Its 7am where I am, and I havn’t been able to sleep.

So I’ve been on the internet trying to find ways to help me out a bit. I saw a website of a local shop here that sells candles that do different things. Like relieve stress, calming scents and what not..

Do these actually work? They’re a bit expensive.. Would any scented candles work? What scents would help me out?

I’ve always heard that Lavender is supposed to be calming and help you to sleep. There’s more ways to use lavender than just candles but if candles are the way you want to go, then try to find something less expensive.

I have a lavender scented spray I use on my pillow cases and it seems to help.

Are there any alternatives to oil burners, scented candles and incents?

Posted on March 1st, 2010 by admin in scented candles | 5 Comments »

I love oil burners, scented candles and incents. They give off such lovely scents and I do really like them and enjoy having them lit. However my mum confescated ALL of them off me because she was afraid I was going to burn the house down (fat chance I think, but oh well). Are there any decent scented things out there that are not lit by matches or are flamed?

Don’t say those aerosol air sanitizer things, they smell pretty… crap really, and don’t last or have the same richness.

Thanks.

I would be cautious of candle warmers….candles were designed to burn down. If there is an air bubble in the candle, the candle could actually pop.

I am not sure what part of the world you are in, so I can suggest a product that you can find at a local Bath and Body Works Store in the United States. They are called Wallflowers and have many different fragrances to choose from in order to satisfy your fragrance needs. They plug into the wall so you don’t have any open flame.

Also there are some different types of reed diffusers out there that are come in many different scents. Whenever the fragrance is starting to dissipate, simply flip the reeds over and the end that was once in the oil is now in the air to create the environment you were looking to create.
