Last Christmas a relative from overseas sent me a most wonderful gift – Advent candles with the dates 1-24 all down the tapered candle.She did send them giftwrapped and I didn’t open them till Christmas Day,so I have had to wait till this year to use them. I love to light candles each evening anyway, as we read and share a meal; it’s one of life’s little pleasures that I enjoy,so I was thrilled with these special candles for the Advent season ;such a thoughtful gift to me. You light them each day till they burn down to the next number (you get about 2 hrs with them each day). I would dearly love to order some for next year, but I haven’t been able to find them.I have been to all the major department stores in my area, but all they have are the Advent wreaths with plain candles to light each WEEK of Advent around the wreath.I really, really want to find the DAILY Advent candles.I have not been able to find them online either. Can anyone suggest where I might find them please? Thank you!
I know exactly what you’re talking about; I have seen those too. The last place I remember seeing them was in one of those novelty type catalogs a year or so ago–it was either Walter Drake, Carol Wright, or one of those similar ones. You might check in a Christian bookstore or catalog; they would be likely to carry something like that, or at least know where you can find them.

To avoid the melting of a cake by lighting 91 individual candles on top of it, my mother made an ice candle and filled it with 90 birthday candles, complete with wicks, and a taper down the middle to grow on. Eventually, the other wicks caught.
