Candles

So my little pug love to get into everything he can get his paws on. Yesterday i noticed he chewed up a candle, today i found the EMPTY bag of 50 unscented candles. He’s acting normal, just pooping mostly wax pieces. Is this a bad thing? It obviously doesn’t seem like a good thing. What do i do?

OK, so you don’t know how long ago he ate them? So inducing vomiting is probably out.

The wax won’t hurt him. The worry is whether there is lead in the wicks, as that is indeed poisonous. And the wicks themselves are basically long pieces of string, which can sometimes be a worry.

Does the bag say anything about whether there is lead in the wicks? Does the manufacturer website? Do they have an 800 number you can call and ask?

Call your vet, local emergency vet or ASPCA Poison Control for advice(888-426-4435). They can advise you on how to proceed. Hang on to the packaging from the candles so you can show it to any vet or read from it to them.

hi we live in an apartment, we cant have a bond fire, and we have an electric stove so i wanted to know if its okay to eat a marshmallow that was roasted by an unscented candle stick (; thanks!

I just bought a good one, lit the wick, but it smells like any unscented candle (that burning smell). The wax smells really good if you go very close to it, but otherwise nothing?

I left the house for a while, nothing.
I lit the wick, is there any other way? If not, I was ripped off [wearing dunce cap]

Buy a better brand of candle. Period.

I’m burning 5 tea lights that are in glass holders on the coffee table. And then three larger candles that are in holders on the other table in the room. They’re all unscented and white. There in the type of holders that come in a group that match each other.

I usually do at night when I’m on the computer, watching tv, or reading. There so pretty with all the other lights out. =)

I burn candles a lot. I just wish they’d reappear after they’re done so that I could re-use them. haha
