My wedding center pieces are going to be something with a clear glass vase with water in it and a mirror for those vases to sit on. My only problem is– is that the venue of my reception doesn’t allow candles. What can I put in those vases with water instead of floating candles? Any ideas? I thought of fake flowers but will fake flowers float or sink? HELP!
Fake flowers will float, however, how about real flowers. You would only have to put one head in each bowl and therefore would not cost that much although the fake flowers would be cheaper.
I’ve heard of people using gold fish. I think fake flowers would float. Good Luck!

Are they aware that the candles will be floating in water?? Sort of silly if they don’t allow that…lol! What looks really nice is to use "frogs" – they sink to the bottom of the vase/bowl of water and hold flowers underneath the water – might be the perfect solution for you! Also – check these out… http://www.floralsupply.com/cat.cgi?s=Submersible FloraLytes LED Light, 10/box&c=dsgnaccs – you could put them at the bottom of the bowl/vase, put glass marbles around & on top of them & then float flowers above. very pretty!

Real flowers will float. Excellent idea. You can use roses or any other flower of choice. One rose in each vase would look beautiful and very impressive. You can use the same color if you choose. You could use a variety of colors.
Best wishes on your up coming wedding.
