How Do U Make Gel Candles?

I’m thinking of making them as a gift, but I have some questions before I start making them..

Is it ok if I just buy a gel candle, melt it into my chosen container & add the stuff I want in there???

Or do I have to go & buy the wax itself?
If so, where do I get it from?

Also, what are the things I CAN’T put in a gel candle??

Well, the last time I made them was a few years ago but when I did the gel wax came in a bag and you melted it and then placed it in the desired container. You could probably just buy a gel candle and melt that too. The kits are really easy to use though.
