How can I remove the remaining candle wax from jar candles. Some of the jars are too nice to throw away.?

Freeze them, then you can slice out all the wax with a paring knife.

I have never tried this myself, but several people have told me these two things work well.

Put them in the freezer upside down for several hours and it will shrink up and fall right out.

Put them on a foil lined pan in the oven on the lowest heat setting for a few minutes. The wax will drip out.

I usually set the jars in a pot of boiling water. After a few minutes the wax is soft enough to spoon out. Any that is left after that…I just put the jar back inside pot till it all melts…then pour it out. The jar can be wiped out with paper towel. If you want them really clean after that you can place them in dishwasher ( with no other dishes ) as you would your drinking glasses. They come out spotless.

I re-use all of the jars from candles and have used all of the methods mentioned above. But, then I found a candle jar warmer at the Wal-Mart for $3.99 (Michaels sells them, too) which not only liquifies the wax, but it continues to smell as if the candle was lit. Then I pour out the wax into tart molds and use them in a popurri wax tart burner just to get that little extra use out of the wax…
