Making Candles 101 Soy, Sand, Pillar and more! DEMO Mabel White Home Living

Friday, April 30th, 2010

DEMO Mabel White Home Living shows you everything you need to know about making Soy Container Candles as well as Pillar, Sand, Large Soy Outdoor and other popular types of candles such as Pillar Chunks with Paraffin, and using molds. As well as the easiest no melt candles there is to make. Mabel White Home Living.

Deborah Dolen says “Choosing the right wick is important and often where a beginner goes astray. Make sure your wicks are thick enough for the diameter of the candle you want to make. Otherwise your candle will never burn down the sides or burn the entire candle way too fast. The wick seller should answer this. I get asked about wick type a lot also. As a rule of thumb I use natural wicks for natural products such as cotton or hemp for soy wax, and zinc wicks for not so natural waxes such as Paraffin. That makes it a bit easier to recall. I tend to buy 6 inch wicks and cut them down to size if needed. But I am not making candles for resale either. ”
