Does anyone know the laws in California around votive candle holders? I need to purchase a bunch for my wedding, but I heard there was some law about minimum required height. I want to make sure I get the right one.
Thanks for any advice.
Okay, its not the state regulators its your local county. You can check with your venue about who regulates in that area, but most likely you will need to talk with the County fire department. LA will not allow open flames in enclosed spaces, like restaurants and halls. Especially near live greenery. I have found that the fake candles work really well and aren’t too expensive. Certainly they aren’t as cheep as tea lights, but what else can you do? I know that in my area we were looking at hurricane lamp shades with tea lights, and the fire department MIGHT have issued a permit for that, but probably not.
