I have tons of candles around my house, but I get so annoyed by blowing them, because of the smoke afterwards. I was thinking about getting the snuffer, but it seems to me, they are only good on the skinny tall candles, I have jars and votive candles.
So if I use snuffer, I have to dip it into the wax to put out the candle??
will it stop the smoke??
I have used my candle snuffer on all types of candles. You don’t actually have to put the snuffer all the way down on a pillar or jar candle and get it yuck with wax. Just hold it about a centimeter about the wax and the lack of oxygen will be sufficient to snuff the candle.
However…your issue with the smoke will not abate with snuffer. What it will do is "pool" the smoke around the wick and drift upward slowly. If you want candles, you will get smoke.
Try buying the all natural soy candles, and this will help with the smoke issue….at least the dark, black smoke. That comes from the burning of the colors and scents added to wax. Candles that are made with all natural soy and no artificial coloring will not put off as much soot. They are a bit more expensive, but worth it in my opinion.
