Does anyone know where I can get votive candles in bulk? Cheapest places you know please!?

Hi. I am making favors right now and need some votives. Have any of you gals bought some in bulk anywhere and how much were they? If all else fails I guess I will get them at the dollar store! Walmart maybe?

The cheap candles are imported (usually from China) and make a smokey mess leaving soot all over the votive holders, ceilings and walls. The soot and pollution can also bother people with breathing problems like asthma or emphysema. I would consider buying more expensive vegetable wax candles with less soot and using fewer of them to cut the cost.

I have found the best deals to be IKEA – hopefully you have one around you!
They burn well and don’t leave the room smelling smokey when they go out.
I think I got bag of 200 for $4.99 when they were on special a few months ago.

I found mine when Michael’s (a craft store near my house) was having a super sale-it was $10 for a dozen votives that were actually already in little glass containers. But I think that a dollar store is a good idea, as is Walmart.

Especially if you just want white. A colored candle will be harder to find.

    Hobby Lobby

I needed votives & glass holders for my sister’s babyshower. Wal-Mart was heck-a expensive, but Hobby Lobby has them pre-poured in the glass holders and for not alot of money. If you can wait until next week, they should have their famous 40% off coupon on their site.
